Skopelos is located in Greece - north east of Athens in the Aegean Sea. It is part of the Sporades group of islands which includes the inhabited islands of Alonnisos, Skiathos & Skyros. Unlike many sparsely vegetated Greek Islands, Skopelos is covered with virgin pine forests. olive, plum & fig trees.
There are around 350 churches, chapels & monastries on this mountainous 17 km long island.
The locals are very friendly & welcoming.

+ Beautiful beaches with crystal clear water to swim in

+ Walk the numerous kalderimi - cobblestone paths that
criss-cross the island
+ There are 3 largish supermarkets & numerous small ones

& mosquito repellent
- no need to let it slop around in your luggage

+ Yogurt to die for - have we mentioned that before ?
+ Medical centre but no hospital
+ A couple of pharmacies
+ limited art supplies & paper
Greek hospitality - bit of drinking, bit of eating, bit of dancing,
