GETTING TO SKOPELOS
You will need to organise your own travel to Greece & then to Skopelos. Below we have included details on ways to get to the Island & will happily help you with any further queries but we are not your travel agents.
SKOPELOS is a little bit difficult to get to
but that is what makes it very special.
Skopelos is located within the Sporades group of islands in the Aegean Sea,
north east of Athens. Skopelos is also the name of the main port and the administrative center of the island. This is where the workshops are held.
There are NO FLIGHTS directly to SKOPELOS as fortunately there is no airport
- it keeps all those bucket tourists out !
The nearest airport is on SKIATHOS - you can FLY directly to SKIATHOS from Athens, the UK & lots of European cities. If you plan on traveling in Europe before or after the workshop you have lots of options available.
The airport is a 10 minute taxi ride from the port of Skiathos.
You will then need to catch the ferry to Skopelos, about 40 - 60 minutes away depending on which boat you are on.
Check out www.expedia & www.aegeanair.com & www.skyexpress.gr
for up to date flight details.
Here are a couple of websites that have info about the Greek ferry boats & timetables www.ferryconnection.com
There are also water taxis available but are a lot more expensive than the larger commercial vessels. Make inquiries at the port if you miss your ferry as other people may want to share the cost with you.
You can also combine BUS & FERRY from Athens
NB. ferries DO NOT depart from Athens.
The PORTS they depart from are Mantoudi, Volos or Agios Konstantinos.
Some years a high speed ferry operates from Thessaloniki.
You will need to catch a local KTEL bus http://ktelvolou.gr/en/home/ to Mantoudi, Volos or Agios Konstantinos & then a catch a
boat / ferry to Skopelos
Here are a couple of websites that have info about the Greek ferry boats & timetables. Each year the timetables are announced on 1st May but often additional ferries are added in June.
NB. get off the boat in SKOPELOS not SKOPELOS GLOSSA unless you are catching the ferry from Mantoudi - in this case a free bus service is provided to bring you to SKOPELOS town.
We will meet you at the ferry on arrival in Skopelos - you will need to give us your arrival details when you know them.
You MUST take out travel insurance to attend our workshops & an INDEMNITY FORM needs to be signed before commencement.
WE DO NOT COVER YOU FOR ANY MISHAPS DURING THE WORKSHOPS including travel & health.
